CES - Superficial, but Necessary

CES is over, and thank goodness. It's a lot of work, but it's an increasingly important show for Apple's ecosystem even though Apple isn't even there. Having had the weekend to think about this year's event, I thought I'd offer my view from 10,000 feet.

LAS VEGAS - Blue announced on Tuesday Nessie, an adaptive USB microphone that is intended to allow customers with less recording experience to get professional-sounding results. A cardioid mic, Nessie has a built-in pop filter and includes on-board filtering to de-ess your recordings. Better yet, it has a internal shock mount to isolate the mic from picking up sound transmitted through the stand.

We look forward to checking this mic out. The features are nice and the price point is nicer still. This is the sort of thing that could help podcasters and home musicians capture higher quality recordings. Plus, it looks very cool, even better in person.

LEGO Announces iPhone-compatible Mindstorms EV3 Kit

Withings Intros New Connected Scale, Health Tracker

The Smart Body Analyzer is a smart scale that tracks your weight, heart rate and air quality, and the Smart Activity Tracker logs your daily steps and other activities. Both connect wirelessly to your iPhone for quick data logging.
