conceived round the time my mum bought her Mac Plus (celebration time); a gloomy night, Bill had just got paid & laid but fortunately far enough away from my mum (“rejoicing with heavenly bells’) that he couldn’t possibly enter into my picture (otherwise I’d have had to kill myself and hope for a more fortunate reincarnation).
