if that is panther, I’d have a copy quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Pretty cool. I can’t wait to see what sort of things this leads to… smile

It seems that from what I have read, you’ll be able to download Qt for the Mac and install it on 10.2.x. Once you’ve got that you should be able to install or compile various KDE apps (KOffice, etc) and run them natively. It should be available at WWDC from the trolltech website .

This is actually really exciting. A lot of Linux apps depend on Qt, and having Qt on the Mac will bring us several mature apps.. I am most interested in KOffice, personally.. smile

I too am looking forward to trying KOffice.  As much as I like OpenOffice (which has been my main word processor recently), it’s kind of sluggish and requies X11 to be running.

I used to use AppleWorks but it has some little problems like non-live scrolling when dragging the scroll bar, and non-proportional scroll bars.  They are very minor issues, but also get rather annoying.  smile

For the benefit of KDE ludites like myself, could some of you folks who have used it brief us on the worthwhile apps that will be accessible as a result of this good news?  Thanks! smile

Request seconded.

Similar topic (I think):  Some pundits have advocated a simpler, less graphics-heavy GUI for those who run OSX on less-than-cutting-edge hardware.  Could this answer that or would you have to run KDE on top of Darwin to do that?

Just wondering…

For myself, I’m hoping anthem will run on mac os x.  It’s a linux app for midi sequencing.  From what I’ve read it rivals some commercial applications.

No earth shattering apps I can think of.  I know I’ll want alot of the fun little games on kde.  Some office stuff, and alot of just knowing software is there if I want it.
