Rodney's Revenge

I am toying with writing an editorial on this, but it’s so peripheral to the Mac industry, if not the community, that I decided to start here.

The National Vanguard linked to TMO.  If you don’t know what this organization is, check them out for yourself.  The short version is that they are a white supremacist organization.

Why in the heck did they link to us?  Digging around, I found a blurb about Macs being for independent minded people.

[quote author=“White Supremacist Site”]Are independent-minded people more likely to use Macs? The following discussion reveals some very interesting theories on what kind of person is most likely to use a Macintosh computer.

It’s on the home page of their site, if you wish to find it.  Going to the link, I found an article comment at TMO.  That comment is from a conservative/libertarian viewpoint pissed off at the politically correct movement.  I loathe the politically correct movement myself, but that’s another issue.

In any event, and this is the kicker, that TMO comment was praising a column by, now get this: Rodney O. Lain!

Oh sweet delicious irony! Oh goddess of Instant Karma, smite thee the silly racists in their ignorant ramblings!

Rodney would be dancing…No, he probably is dancing even now.  This was the sort of thing that delighted him, and I only wish he was here to enjoy it. I miss him.

I have to disagree…  I contend that Rodney would have wet his pants laughing and *then* he’d change his pants and dance.  :D

    But that’s just nitpicking.

We miss you Rodney.  Guess you’re still getting people from the other side.  smile  :innocent:

It depends on what you look at, obviously,
But even more it depends on the way that you see

Sloppy research and unthinking pre-judging on their part.

Hope the dancing goes on for a loooong time.

Priceless, Bryan, Just priceless. =) If you do write up an article though, see if you can find a working link to his article: “Angry Mac Man: Macintosh is the ‘nigger ’ of the computer industry” from MacSimple. I’d love to hear the sound of white supremicist heads popping like so many hot air baloons. wink

Rodney must be having a grand time laughing his butt off about this. :D

    I miss that dude…..

He is missing so much great stuff.

Hey Bryan, have you thought of maybe doing a tribute to him in any way? Like maybe a Rodney day? Reprint some of his columns.

I think the guy deserves it. smile

Now do you people understand why I laugh so hard at the world?

In the words of H.L. Mencken, I will honor Rodney today by forgiving some sinner and winking at an ugly girl.

That’s wonderful! When we use emails, visit sites, etc we often have no idea of the nationality, colour, creed, or anything else of the person with whom we are communicating or who is responsible. Yet some seem to consider these aspects so important in the real world. The mistake by the individuals who run that horrible and frightening site is indicative of the superficial nature of their attitudes.

Pity Rodney is no longer here to witness it!
