    Hey all—

Just FYI, I’ve posted a map of the US featuring all the Apple Stores currently on the agenda (location map provided by tfx, one of the AAPLTalk regulars!)

    http://www.aapltalk.com/generalstuff/index.html

Thought it might interest some of y’all…now, where’s my Detroit store!?!

How about links/hot spots for each store to its respective apple.com page?

Hey BlueDjinn, I posted a mention of this in our news today.  Great idea, and I am glad you did it!

GIve a holler when the links are added to the map.

Bryan—wow, cool, thanks!  However, I should point out that this wasn’t my idea originally; a guy going by the name of “tfx” on the Raging Bull boards created the map.

On the other hand, I’m the one uploading it & adding links, so I’ll take some credit )

BlueDjinn, since our readership and forum membership is international, I’m sure you will be adding non-US stores (when the appear)?

    Just a suggestion

Better yet, how about a long-term project of a (separate), on-going map listing and showing eggcellent Mac-friendly stores?

    iBrotha—

(nod) Sure…as with the System Shootouts ,  this can be an ongoing, ever-expanding mini-project )

Actually, Bill Fox over at MacsOnly has something in this same vein—the CompUSA Watch page…it’s a listing of the condition of the Store-Within-a-Stores at every CompUSA in the U.S.  I don’t think it’s been updated in awhile, though.

AAPLTalk exists mainly for Apple investors to have a chatroom to discuss investments or whatever else comes up, but over the past year I’ve expanded the site to include a variety of oddball, Apple/Mac-related items.  No real rhyme or reason to it, just whatever comes up for the most part )

BTW—I’ll be updating the shootout page sometime in October as well

That’s because CompUSAs are a soul-crushing burden on a Mac user’s spirit, as iBrotha will attest to.    Wouldn’t surprise me if Bill lost interest after seeing the continuing lack of improvements in the stores-withn-a-store.

On the other hand, since new Apple retail stores are nothing but pure joy, I think your project will be happily running for a long time…
(and if not, I’ll gladly take over the project if the need arises)

Consider this fact attested to. Don’t get me started. CompUSA has problems of credibility, not problems of a dearth of Apple support.

    Ay-main!
