Hello,
1.) We’re using several G4s running OS 9.0 in our graphics department.
Recently they started crashing when users tried to change printers and other settings using the control strip (produces a system error -10 and must restart). They can workaround this using Chooser but it still seems odd, especially since I reinstalled several months ago. Several other oddball things happen. Some can be replicated and some cannot. I’ve treid using Norton Utilities in the hopes that it would help, and it did to a point, but these things still keep coming up. Quark and Photoshop are being used heavily on them. Does anyone no what these weird errors can be attributed to?
Will an upgrade to OS 9.1 or 9.2 give me any additional stability?
2.) Finder crashes every time it looks for a shared volume on the network if it’s unavailable, leaving no choice but to force quit? Is there anyway to erase it’s preferences or disable this from happening?
I’m a MacNewbie and any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
