Is Gateway on a roll? Since announcing the accquisition of eMachines GTW has been moving steadily higher. In midday activity on Monday GTW is trading at $5.93, less than a dollar a share below its 52-week high of $6.85 set in September.

The market may be viewing the eMachines acquisition as a positive move, allowing the PC maker to close money-losing Country Stores as the volume from low-end PC sales provides the company with greater market exposure.

GTW is currently trading at about $5.30 per share following the formal completion of the eMachines acquisition. This is an interesting stock to watch as Gateway reengineers its business model and store strategy in light of the eMachines buy.
