Gateway has officially completed its purchase of eMachines and the former head of the acquired discount PC maker has been named CEO of Gateway, taking over the post from Gateway’s founder.

Gateway is apparently also in search of a new auditing firm. Lots of changes at GTW. At less than $6 per share the company may represent a special situation as Gateway seeks to flex a bit of market share muscle following the eMachines purchase.

The combined company represents 7% of the US PC market and 25% of retail PC sales.

Will be interesting to see what happens.  GW has been floundering for quite some time.  In the end, the eMachine brand will probably takeover and GW2K will just dissolve into the history books.
