Well…..tried to reformat the drive, reinstalled both OS X and 9.2 and all those apps.

When boot into X I can NOT allocate MORE OR LESS THAN 350MB memory to Photoshop, AfterEffects, and Cleaner. Otherwise the apps quit and the dialogue box “Application unexpected quit” comes out immediately. When I try to launch anyone of them the whole system quits and re log in to me.

F***!!!!! icon_mad.gif

Have you tried trashing your Classic prefs for those apps?

Also, I have noticed that my memory usage doesn’t increase by as much as I have allocated to a Classic app when it launches.  For instance, I have 200 MB allocated to GoLive, but when I launch it my memory usage increases by only 5%.  I have no idea why, or what the heck is going on behind the scenes though.

Yeap…Classic is an app and the memory is allocated dynamically from OSX…that’s why you see only 7% or less when not in use.

However….Photoshop….on the other hand relies on swapping data between RAM and HD a lot….....still need to set the allocation very high in case if you are opening a super huge file. Like if you only allocate 200MB RAM to the app….when you open a file over 500MB in size…..PS will swap data back and forth a lot from the HD….which is the pain in the a$$......that’s why I try really hard to bump the memory allocation a lot higher under X.

BTW….I just was told by people this morning that Photoshop 7 is now in beta! OSX native….and classic filter seem to work too (according to the guy who told me)!  Hope we could see it before the end of year icon_smile.gif
