Has anyone heard any information about when one would be able to buy a new mac and find OS X v10.1 preinstalled?

I phone one mail-order place and they said they would send a 10.1 “flat pack” along with the order so I could install 10.1 myself. I’m wondering if these would be the full-install CDs or the upgrade CDs.

The 10.1 pre-loaded systems should arrive any time now, the only factor to consider is how many 10.0.x systems are still ahead of them in the retail channel.

I would think that the “flat pack” is the free update-only disk set, not the $20 upgrade package.  I haven’t heard anything on 10.1 about this, but usually in these cases Apple offers people who buy a Mac after an update is released but don’t get it in the box a free copy via mail.  I would give Apple a call on this to be sure though.
