Is there a forum out there where the issues coming up for a vote at the April 22 shareholders meeting are being discussed? I am most interested in the “Commonsense Executive Compensation Proposal” being submitted by the carpenters/joiners union. The meeting notice covers the subject only to the extent that it has answers to certain parts of the proposal, and (naturally) leaves the other parts unmentioned. Anybody out there intrigued by where this discussion might lead?

Hmmm…the proxy I read did not include a shareholder proposal. I’d like to see more info on the matter.

The proxy ballot only says, “3 - To consider a shareholder proposal if properly presented at the meeting”.  The description of the proposal is in the notice of annual meeting of shareholders, which also came with the 10-K.

Interesting the proposal wasn’t stated on the proxy. I’ll have to read the 10-K. That’s something I usually save for bouts with insomnia

It looks like this same organization put forward a proxy propsal on expensing options at Intel.

Currently the FASB is working on uniform guidelines for expensing options which is one of the key issues mentioned by Apple’s management in terms of their decision as to whether or not to support the expensing of options as a corporate policy.
