Apple has apparently patented the iTunes interface , further protecting the company’s market lead in digital music distribution. This is an important win for Apple in that the “look and feel” of iTunes has stronger protection under patent laws than trademark laws. I found the story on MSHN.

I was wondering, does this include elements of the iTunes Music Store?  I have been wondering about the Allowance feature and a few others.  Just curious.  Personally, I’m guessing not, since iTunes has been around longer than the iTMS; it seems like it takes forever to obtain a patent.
