Do you have a favorite daily or weekly show(s) that you simply hate to miss such that you find yourself rushing home or dropping everything in order to sit down and enjoy it?

Currently my favorite is the “Amazing Race.”
I also look forward to the new season of “Survivor.”
When I get a chance, I enjoy watching “Will and Grace.”
And, I’d like to see more of “The Apprentice.”

Run home?  Never!  Get a TiVo.  Best damn thing Bryan and I ever did.  cool

What do I watch though?  CSI (the original Vegas one) is a recent habit.  And I’ll be a faithful Lost watcher once it airs next week.  (8pm on ABC, Wednesday)  What a killer show!  The Daily Show is also a must-watch.

What will I do though, without a Joss Whedon show on tv?  bug eyed

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Wolf’s Rain, and Inuyasha are the only series I watch live, even though I have TiVO.

Megas XLR, Venture Brothers, Good Eats, Harvey Birdman, all get TiVO’d and watched at my convenience.

Father of the Pride and a few others get TiVO’d, but may not get watched.

Next series I have to catch is going to be the Farscape Peacekeeper Wars miniseries, and the new Battlestar Galactica (If it’s any good). I need my space operas, and the current crop on TV dosen’t cut it for me.

The closest thing to must-see for me is “Realtime with Bill Maher”, which is in reruns for the next few weeks.  That’s about it.  I have been watching new episodes of “Enterprise”, but the reruns have generally not been worth watching a second time.  I used to watch the Daily Show pretty often, and I did watch it each night of the RNC, since I couldn’t make myself watch the RNC itself.

I agree, except I don’t own a TiVo. razz But when I learned about the joy of watching TV shows on DVD, I decided it’s usually not worth rearranging one’s schedule only to spend 1/3 of the time watching advertisements.

But I do try to catch Stargate whenever possible. I also enjoy PBS on occasion since it’s not interrupted by commercials. For example they are doing a Julia Child tribute tonight - I had no idea she was so funny. (Ironically they are doing a fundraiser night so it actually had a few pseudo-ads. But it helps keep the rest of the programming ad-free so I don’t mind. smile)

Why would I get TiVo? I just use the TV Tuner bulit into the Radeon 9800 in my PC. (That and games the only reason I still have that PC). Then, I take that nights viewing, save it as an MPEG, transfer it over to the PB, and watch it later. Like in clas….. I mean lunch…. razz

That tivo thang must be all that it’s talked up to be.  You know, every time somebody mentions tivo I think of the great favor of a gift that sometoast did for me about a year ago. (Thanks again sometoast!) Yes, a tivo unit does seem impressive and at the first opportunity, I’ll have to explore the possibilities of acquiring one.

In the mean time, Survivor Vanatu was very good.  It looks like there are some real characters in the tribes (and some of the girls are real hotties!), but it’s all about the game, not the hotties big grin .

The strangest thing happened while watching Will and Grace, that after twenty minutes of the show the commercial break went into a long intro for The Apprentice.  For a minute I thought that my house clock was wrong, but instead, it must have been the studios that short cut Will and Grace.

Anyway, The Apprentice was pretty good.  It is amazing how similar the projects that they are assigned reflect the same procedures that as a business student I go through while working on school projects.  Sometimes it looks as if those teams do behave like a bunch of students working on class project!  Lastly, it was a shock to see that the guy got fired. And for what? Jeopardizing a secure position on a gut feeling?  Wow, The Donald is tough!

I’ll have to put in another plug for 24, at least the first three seasons. Lord only knows what the writers can do for a fourth. It’s the only show in which a clock is a character. razz

I’m not the only one though - the show’s continuous season-long story arc and realtime elements mean that you don’t want to miss an episode. Most people I know who watch it do literally schedule that day around the show.
