That’s right, folks.  The first ever TMO Forum contest is here!  Here’s how you win:

1) Observe the history-making moment when Bryan posts his 2000th post in these forums.

2) Head immediately over here to this thread and post that YOU saw his 2000th post, and provide a link to the thread in which he posted it.

3) There is no step 3.  Hehehehe.

If YOU are the lucky winner, this is what you will win:

A copy of “Bryan Chaffin: An AppleScript for the Ages.”

That’s right, if you win, you will receive the award-winning autobiography of the AppleScript we all know and love as Bryan Chaffin from his early days as a five-liner, to his current state as Editor and Forum God for TMO (a fully developed, fully matured, 10,000 page AppleScript).

What you’ll read about:

- his first “tell application ‘finder’”
- his first crash (it wasn’t pretty)
- the creation of “the Bryan persona”
- the creation of “the other TMO personas”
- and plenty more from this groundbreaking AppleScript with AI

Good luck!  icon_biggrin.gif

Best regards,
Brad

‘course, another way would be to hit the server directly and then parse the incoming HTML. I dunno… say maybe something like this.

Sure, I hit the damn page every 15 minutes all day (I’m sure Bryan wasn’t intentionally being sadistic by making his 1,999th post at 6:50 in the morning icon_smile.gif ) only to get distracted by phone calls at the crucial moment! d’oh!

WTG Justin! Bert, tell ‘im what he’s won! icon_biggrin.gif

Good going Bryan too—both for hitting the double century mark and for overseeing the finest Mac Forum on the web.

Actually, I did deliberately make my 1999th post this morning…  icon_wink.gif

Thanks for the comments, someToast.  We do have the best forums, but it wouldn’t be possible without you and all of the other great members and mods.  Heck, even our Anonymous posters are almost universally a good lot!

Thanks, Hoytt!  icon_smile.gif

What I want to know is, who’s going to be the first 5-star poster?

I guess I should start writing that bio….WAIT…I did say AUTObiography, didn’t I?  Hey Bryan, would your AppleScript-ness like to get started on that autobiography for our good friend Rob?
