Have you ever looked at the list of Chain Gang games and couldn’t add anything, no matter how much you wanted to?
“All of these games are too hard. I can’t tell Tall Tales. I can’t think of any puns painful enough for Late Arrivals. I can never answer the Pop Quizzes or Riddles. I can’t even add a word to Sentences or find a funny picture to Caption.”
Well sit tight, for I have the perfect game for you. It’s called Counting.
“How does it work?”
Geez, be patient. I was about to tell you when you interrupted me.
“Oh, sorry.”
You should be. Anyway, the first person (that’s me) posts a number. Let’s say I post the number… 4. The next person takes the previous poster’s number and—here’s the beauty of the game—adds 1 to that number! So the next person would post th—
“5! They would post 5!”
—uh, yes, they would post 5. Will you shut up and let me finish? The next person posts the number 5, and the person after them would post 6. Simple as that. (Don’t worry, you can use a calculator if you want.) The game ends when it is no longer possible to add 1 to the current number.
“Aren’t you just using this as a lame excuse to get more posts faster?”
Didn’t I tell you to shut up?!? Now, it’s time to start the game!
