Perhaps I’m speaking too soon, but have the popunders gone? I don’t think I’ve seen one all day. I’m not blocking them, because I’m not using a browser that supports that function.
For the record, I absolutely despise popups and popunders, but I support TMO & TMO Forums more than I hate the Bastards of Javascript. (I have no problem blocking popups given the ability, but I would never block banner ads, barring extraordinary circumstances.) I can’t imagine that they are effective at all, either. I close them without even bringing them to the front. They want to pop under? Fine, I’ll close ‘em under. I’m sure others do the same. Because of this, I fail to see any effectiveness unless success is based purely on how many times the ad is loaded.
Don’t get me started on sound effects in banners and popups. Ugh.
That said, I will deal with them until the time arrives when there is a way for me to subscribe.
