MySQL Password lost

    I installed MySQL and PHP to use my server for more things, but (stupid as I am) I lost my MySQL password. In what file in my system is it stored, or what other ways do I have to retrieve it, or in the last case, how do I reinitialize MySQL and reset the password?

    Sorry nobody responded. I don’t know either, so I asked An Expert™.

    So says The Expert™.  And yay for AIM.  And he says to say he meant ‘silly’ as in ‘oops!’, not lame.

    Thanks Raena, and by the way, what a real nice guy the Expert™ of yours.       I guess I’ll have rm -rf all mySQL things, no biggie, just as the Expert™ said, there can’t be much in them, well there isn’t .

    May I ask what you’re tinkering with?  I need to learn more about MySQL and I want to practice on my machine.
