AppleScript 1.8.2b?
-
Apple has recently released a beta test version of AppleScript 1.8.2. It supose to fix some bugs. Has anyone tried this? Is it better to wait until after it reaches the finished version, or is this version pretty stable? I’m going to download it this week and test it, but if anyone has any comments, please let the rest of us scripters know! Thanks.

Apple has released a Beta test version of AppleScript 1.8.2, a bug-fix
release that corrects several problems reported with AppleScript
versions 1.7 through 1.8.1. This version is being released
simultaneously for Mac OS 9 (versions 9.1 through 9.2.2) and Mac OS X
(versions 10.1.0 through 10.1.2).This version of AppleScript is believed to fix problems that people have
reported with using AppleScript with Smile and Claris Emailer on Mac OS
9 and Classic, and Script Debugger 3.0 with Mac OS X.To download this version, log in at https://connect.apple.com and click on
“Download Software” on the left panel. If you are not a member of the Apple Developer Connection, you can join
at:
http://developer.apple.com/membership/Online membership is free.
Both the Mac OS 9 and X versions are included in one disk image.
Release notes are included on the disk image, and are also
downloadable separately for your convenience. To install the Mac OS X version, double-click on the package in the Mac
OS X folder on the disk image. To install the Mac OS 9 version, remove the AppleScript file from your
Extensions folder and the Standard Additions file from your Scripting
Additions folder, and replace them with the versions supplied in the Mac
OS 9 folder on the disk image. As always with Beta software, we recommend backing up your system
before installing this software, or at least saving the previous versions of
your AppleScript software so that you can revert to it if you need to.For Mac OS 9, save the older versions of the AppleScript and Standard
Additions files. For Mac OS X, save the older versions of the following files:
/System/Library/Components/AppleScript.component
/System/Library/Frameworks/PrivateFrameworks/AppleScript.framework
/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon/Frameworks/OpenScripting.framework
/System/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Standard Additions.osax
Please report bugs that you find with this Beta software to https://bugreport.apple.com
