ripping DVDs into QuickTime

  I need to rip a portion of a DVD into QuickTime, so I can convert it into AVI and embed it into a PowerPoint presentation. The DVD is a non-commercial, non-protected DVD. Suggestions on the best software for the task?

  With no protection to worry about, any DVD ripper should do the job. You might be able to use MPEG Streamclip as well, since a DVD is simply demultiplexed MPEG-2 video & audio files.

  Thanks, Dirt Road. I ended up using a freeware app called HandBrake , which did a wonderful job. I highly recommend it, and it’s already available for Intel Macs.
