I’ve just wasted half an hour surfing for a freeware Quicktime VR authoring program. Does anyone know of a free (or even cheap, ~$20-30) program that will let you stitch photos into a VR panorama?

This would just be a fun toy, not something I am interested in spending lots of money on so Apple’s $400 solution is out of the question for me.

Doing slightly more searching I found the nifty little program called MakeCubic from apple. I think I initially decided this wouldn’t do what I wanted… This does pretty much exactly what I wanted (not perfect, but as good as I’d expect for free). Stitch together a series of images in <insert graphic program here> and convert it with make cubic. pretty cool.

For those interested in my first experiment, here is a QTVR of my office (1MB download) Next step, find a better way of smoothing some of those edges. and then ah… get back to work
