Beige G3 and Radeon (Can they be happily married?)

Been reading that ATI had mislabled the box when they first shipped the Radeon 7000. Has anyone heard of a fix so the card will work when booting in OS X? Or is it just a lost cause?

Want to upgrade a Beige G3 to have as a ‘good’ second computer to have another computer for lan games.
