I got MacBook Black, but it was a bit slow for me. Got New Mac Book Pro. Really like it. If you put in specially designed for it Stucano Work Out carrying bag, the entire thing is very light and ergonomic.
Mac Book Pros will effect earnings, though there were selling less than a month for June quarter.
I think margins will be high, but Apple again will reiterate that this is not sustainable. Mac sales will be the highest in the entire Apple history (as expected by AFB board).
iPhone would at best contribute 1-2 cents to June quarter.

Margins, Macs, and favorable dollar rates (high margins on international sales) will result in earnings that leave Wall Street estimates in the dust again.
However, the weakest link would be iPod sales. Let us not forget that the market valued AAPL so far mostly on its growing iPod sales.
Of course, the central point would be guidance. If Apple execs decide to feed bears another fat and juicy lunch, the stock can revisit June lows.

The falling dollar will have an extraordinary impact on earnings. Most analysts will discount this as a temporary benefit. iPod sales should be repectable, not stellar. Apple needed to take time to address other product lines and it’s healthy to take a pause from time to time. The iPod quarters are Q4 and Q1.

Mac sales should carry the day. I’m expecting some big surprises from the education sector of the Mac market.

Will Anyone Even Bother Looking At Apple’s Earnings? (AAPL)

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is a stock that keeps going and going.  Shares opened up at an all-time high at $140.38 today and we don’t even have its earnings until next week, and that really makes you wonder if this earnings report matters outside of what the company guides for the rest of calendar 2007.  The iPhone came out literally with about 30 hours left in the quarter and its operating system delay was noted early enough for damage to be minimized.  Apple has also been gaining market share in Mac computer sales.

What is amazing is that there was not even a “sell the event” reaction in Apple shares other than what ended up being less than a 1% stock drop after nearly a 50% gain in 2007 before the iPhone launch.  In fact, that was only a 1-day drop and shares are up almost another $20.00 from that day.  We’ll be doing an Apple earnings preview next week, but it’s a real wonder if the actual earnings will even be looked at.  Making any bets against this company other than a very short-term trade here and there would have been a painful experience.
