Thanks to everyone for their input.

I just ordered a 15” MacBook pro 2.2 GHz with matte screen and 7200 rpm 160 gig HD. After reading several reviews is seems the extra $500 for a 2.4 Ghz machine with 256 instead of 128 VRam wasn’t worth it- minimal performance boost and no need for an extra 128 of Vram even with large external monitor.

Along with my education discount I also get a $200 rebate towards an iPod Nano! big grin So I ordered an 8 gig Nano (will be $50 after rebate- sweet!)

I’ll be buying an external monitor for it as well- not sure which yet - suggestions?

Also DT - you’ll be happy to hear I joined you on the Juniper Visa Card bandwagon - should get a nice iTune store coupon out of the deal as well!

lol

The other day I was figuring how much free music I’d earn from buying a laptop similar to yours. smile

Just be careful: If you make use of the 90-days same-as-cash terms on your first Apple purchase, reading through the materials those terms don’t apply to other purchases. If you don’t pay the bill in full and you have unrelated charges, the payments will first go against the purchase of the laptop and interest will be charged on other purchases. So, if you use the SAC option on the laptop, you may wish to lock the card away until it’s paid in full.

I’m now using the Juniper card as my primary credit card to build up the free music/movie points. With the costs of running my household, I may not have to worry about buying music or movies again.  wink

the deal as well!

If you ordered the LED screen, expect a long wait. Apple is having a troubles meeting demand.

willrob - Order status says shipping by July 27th to Aug 1st. We’ll see.

DT - thanks for the heads up on using the Juniper Visa.

I only plan to use it for Apple store purchases.  Likely an iPhone soon, MacBook for my wife and when new iMacs come out - perhaps one of those as well!.

Should keep me supplied with some nice iTunes store certificates for a while. big grin

I hadn’t thought about this before, but the Juniper card might be a big hit with college students seeking to establish credit. Free music and movies is a nice reward. smile
