Re: all out blitz

Funny, I got somewhat suspicious while reading this. Call me cynical, but i was thinking maybe as portrayed here, its just a bit too perfect in Apple world. Hmmmm I guess the last two years I got bit too often on the ole behind believing appleinsider. So, bulltrap, I don’t know. Short-term anything can happen and probably will, as Tommo as mentioned many times before.

Ahh! No thanks. I’m happy in my little all-apple-long-term-long world. (’:)’)[quote author=“muckraker”][quote author=“timmer”]Funny, I got somewhat suspicious while reading this. [quote author=“Marrakech”][quote author=“Quadra”]Without the steady drip from the morphine IV I’m sure I wouldn’t be trying these crazy trades razz

Took AAPL short @ 140.48 (DayTrade)
Took SNDK LONG @ 56.15 (DayTrade)

You are not alone cool

I covered half for .50 gain 139.98.  Held the remaining through the huge short covering pop, looking like I may end with only a BE trade if we don’t see selling into the close….

I’m anxious about the SNDK buy with earnings coming after the close!  Risky day…  better hit the morphine pump again :o

If Apple plans to release another cell phone “months after the iPhone”, wouldn’t we have seen the FCC certification months ago? I’m skeptical about this.

Don’t bother about this type of BS.  Is sufficiently clear from SJ’s keynotes and what he said during D:Conference, that current iPhone model would be the one for US, Europe and Asia.  No new model, period.

If there was genuine speculation from confirmation of there definitely being a revenue sharing arrangement (we know almost 100% there is one, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed of course) the stock would run another $10-20 in a flash. Trust me, this isn’t in the numbers yet, and won’t be until we get confirmation from either AT&T or Apple that there definitely is such an arrangement. We don’t even need to know exactly how many dollars Apple is getting, just that there is a revenue sharing arrangement in place, so that speculation of its impact can be included in analysts’ models.

Piper Jaffray says: AT&T pays $3 - $11 per iPhone a month to Apple.

So you dismiss the positive conjecture as easily as the FUD?  IMHO I think that some of the article points are very possible.

The nanophone doesn’t even sound cool. Why bother marketing a non touch-screen phone that would not necessarily be better than the current crop of competition. A rotary dial for e-mailing? And if you can’t get net access or e-mail, why get just a phone that plays music? Don’t most of them do that now. I think this nanophone story is bunk. Primarily because it lacks the cool we expect from Apple.

Today we are seeing the tightest trading range for aapl that I have seen in a very long time.

Anything above 140 will be great.

Will buy 20 more shares tomorrow.

We are on our way to 160 by Oct.

Really guys, I’m surprised at the negativity.  Perhaps there’s a job for you at UBS Wealth Management.

Looks like one of the biggest bears is down for the count.  See the story here .  A year or so ago I stated that I hoped the hedgies manipulating AAPL got their heads handed to them eventually.  Well, I think this is it.  The same ethics that were described by Jim Cramer in operating a hedge fund also lead to financing questionable loans.  Unfortunately, it appears that the investors are the only ones that will be wiped out unless one of Bear Stearns’ competitors decides to snap them up while they are wounded.  Frankly, after all the AAPL FUD generated by them last year, it couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch. roll eyes

Well, I must say that for the past six minths AAPL has been the least volatile of my holdings. When AAPL may have a 1-2% change my other two main holdings GRMN & WFR will have twice the range. In spite of all the hype and warning about high p/e stocks, AAPL has been quite damped in it’s movements.

Re: all out blitz

Down the line IMHO, anything is possible. Personally, I don’t think Appleinsider has ‘inside’ knowledge of Apple’s forward strategies…except what is ‘inside’ their heads. They do however create short-term volatility that can be profitable for short term guys. I prefer to believe Alan Farley wwhen he says:if their upgrading they are selling and if they are downgrading they’re buying. There are , of course, exceptions…

Reminds me of Banker’s Trust . Overly arrogant and hubristic financial advisors regrettably seem a dime a dozen.
