PC Industry Watch: IBM and Linux
IBM and Sherwin-Williams are teaming up to deploy Linux at the paint maker’s 2500 retail stores. It’s the first major delployment of Linux in a retail envronment.
I unfortunately noted that it is replacing a Unix system, and not a Windows one. That said, I would rather they make the switch to Linux than to Windows, so I still count it a victory.
I bet that other retailers are going to be watching Sherwin-Williams’ effort on this.
