John's Veri$on rant

Try for your ringtonez. It takes a little bit of work but the results are excellent. It attaches a sound to a pic message. once you receive it, your phone should have a “save as ringtone” option. At least that’s how it works on my LG ENV. I’m so with you on Veri$on’s data plan. I wanted to use bluetooth data to get realtime traffic with my TomTom 910. I’ll sit in traffic for $60 a month.

Verizon and Ringtones
Thanks for the tip, but Verizon worked very hard on making it nearly impossible to get a rington on this phone. I tried the mechanism you suggested, which is to email a sound file to <my mobile number>@vzwpix.com, but when it receives it, there is no option to add it as a ringtone.
Fortunately, I’ve been able to do nearly everything else I want, including using the data plan without having to pay $60/month, change various phone graphics (like the annoying Verizon logo that appears on the outside display when you’re making a call) and other fun stuff.
