I’d like to thank all of our active members for your help in making TMO’s Apple Finance Board forum the best place on the ‘Net for informative discussions about Apple, its finances and AAPL share price performance.

Due to the popularity of our forum, a number of discussions have taken place concerning the best ways to sustain our growth and enhance the community’s ability to meet the needs of our members.

We’ve had requests for such enhancements as a quotes lookup and an easier means to view the posts in each topic. We’d appreciate the feedback from our members on enhancements you would like to see implemented.

This topic is being started as a means to post your ideas.

Thank you.

Longtime readers will know I absolutely adore wikis. The AFB wiki would be a great place to archive trends, tools, quarterly charts, jokes, etc - the FAQ that we currently don’t have for the board.

You’ve mentioned this before. smile

Thanks to DawnTreader for the initiative

1) Wish I could stay as logged-in on TMO on the 4 Macs I use every day. I have to log in to TMO too many times every day just because I switch between machines.

Good day to you all apple

Heya xumbra, you *should* be able to stay logged in between machines. I know I can stay logged on between browsers.

You might be encountering a caching issue we’ve had trouble with involving cookies.  Try deleting your cookies on all the machines in question that relate to TMO. After that, you *should* be OK. Please let me know if that’s not the case.

Alternately, you can visit a page we made that will do this for you!

TMO’s Cookie Clearing Page

You’d need to visit that page on each machine.

You’re most welcome. Please let me know if you still have trouble in this regard.  The forums should allow this, and if not, we need to get to the bottom of it. smile

1) AAPL and some other indices at the very top of each page within the AFB hierarchy of the TMO forums.

2) Long URLs that will wrap, or not allow long URLs to be inserted in the body of the text.

3) Some long and complex URLs can not be embedded in the text with BBCode.

4) Ability to load images into the message. Sometimes these are user generated and the user (me) has no place to upload them on the web.

The format for a standard posting is too long, and quoting previous posts makes a posting even longer.  The result is long threads, with much scrolling.  There should be fewer quotes, and we should keep in mind that threads are for reading and keep them focused.

That’s more a matter for individual posters than AFB. For example, I invariably edit the quoted sections of a post to which I am replying to strip out everything except the relevant part to which I am responding.

It would be nice if the topic name appeared at the bottom of the page as well as it’s current position at the top.

The study of money, above all other fields in economics, is one in which complexity is used to disguise truth or to evade truth, not to reveal it. The process by which banks create money is so simple the mind is repelled.

Indeed, editing quoted posts is good.

This maybe not possable or would not suite some people, but seeming most of the posts are relatively short it would be nice to be able to read the entire post in the RSS feed rather than having to open each post in a new tab, just there a lot of posts these days and i want to read them all so i dont miss anything.

what does everyone else think ?

rrs feeds bring ppl to the site, which can click google adds, so the site can keep living. Whole posts in rss feeds make it unnecesery to do that so no add clicks, no income and bye bye site.
