I am thinking about buying me and my son an iPOD next week.We currently have mp3 players but the iPODs are cooler and can hold alot more songs.I was wondering how you can get songs on it.I know through itunes and from my cd collection but can you transfer songs from a share network like Limewire?

Heya jborlace,

And welcome to the forums. smile

iPods are loaded exclusively through iTunes.  Anything that iTunes will play can be loaded into your iPod, and it is a very easy process. If you haven’t yet used iTunes like that, you’ll find it an absolute joy.

iPods play MP3, AAC, AAC Lossless, AIFF, and WAV files.  I won’t offer specific advice about the piracy networks, but if your media will load into iTunes, you can put it on your iPod.

That said, I am adamantly against piracy.
