The true difference isn’t anywhere near as great as people make out. Its just that American prices never include sales taxes which are only added at the time of purchase.
Does the $399 euro price include the tax? That’s interesting. The Apple UK store that I quoted excluded the VAT, and were still considerably higher than US prices when the exchange rate was factored in.
