[quote author=“Tommo_UK”]Don’t forget that US prices do NOT include sales taxes, which in some states can add a not-inconsiderable amount to the $399, wheras the Euro price includes 19% sales tax.

The true difference isn’t anywhere near as great as people make out. Its just that American prices never include sales taxes which are only added at the time of purchase.

Does the $399 euro price include the tax?  That’s interesting.  The Apple UK store that I quoted excluded the VAT, and were still considerably higher than US prices when the exchange rate was factored in.

Yes it does. Here in NL 19% VAT is included in all prices.

[quote author=“Tommo_UK”]Why the hell can’t they have an on-line stock-checking system so you don’t have to call them? It would hardly be difficult for them seeing as everything is tracked.

Send it in as a feedback request to Apple.

Thanks—so with higher property prices, wages and taxes, maybe the prices are similar to US, with, perhaps a small gain if the dollar deteriorates between the time of a sale and the quarterly report.
