The iPhone will sell initially for 399 Euro in Germany. Reuters is citing an Industry Source.

399 Euros = Ј275 = an unbelievable $554 compared to the $399 in the US.

3G 16GB model maybe??

Of course it doesn’t help that Germany charges almost 20% VAT, so a fair comparison would actually be around 330 Euros = $460 or so.

You’d be surprised Tommo. There’s a growing middle class that will happily buy plenty of iPods. Many Indian outsourcing companies simply can no longer retain staff despite raising wages and throwing in loads of perks.

That’s very true. The reason Apple cancelled its new Indian tech centre year or so ago just as it was about to begin building was because wages were rising so fast that there was no longer a competitive advantage to be had by locating there any more.
