[quote author=“coma”]I watched part of that and the part that impressed me was the fact that now Apple is on equal footing with RIM. They must have gotten real spooked and forced into a corner to pull out the iPhone killer as their last defense.
lol

The statement was made that the Apple was for multimedia whereas the BB is designed for Data, definitely a RIM commercial.

Thanks, did the BB look any different than the general oversized ones they have now?

BTW, just paid my ATT wireless bill and there is absolutely no mention of the iphone on the site.  If you search for phones you come up with some support docs.  They do not even show Apple as a manufacturer of a phone if you are trying to shop online.  Apple should do anything possible to get out of the ATT contract if it is at all possible.  REally too bad!  I think the stories about unfriendly customer service reps at the stores may just be right after all.

On the blackberry, i think it’s way more popular in US than in euroland (apart from maybe in london). Apple seems a lot more like a euro friendly coproraton than many US companies.

Unfriendly hardly tells the story. I was in the AT&T store here about a week ago switching SIMs (a long story, not worth repeating) and witnessed a prospective customer come in, ask for an iPhone because it seemed to him to be easy to use, was colorful and had a great screen, looked easy to get to contacts, and was cool. The store manager acknowledged that was all true, then—without even showing him the iPhone—began touting the Treo 700 and the BB, the decision between the two to be based on how much email he did on a phone. The guy left without buying anything, but promised to have the manager out to his business to standardize the five EEs on a single system. What are the odds the iPhone will be the solution?

I asked the manager why he had done that, and he said it was because “they” (AT&T mngmnt?) wouldn’t give him one so he can’t be bothered to learn about it.

And over 1mm sold with this kind of “support!” frown

You should relay this experience to Apple.

I have to put my two cents in on this. I called complaining about everything to an AT&T rep and he just said “return my phone and discontinue service”. I am disgusted with AT&T. In my area there are several dead pots that I did not have with T-mobile, which is strange since I thought both of these networks were GSM. Will hang in there till AAPL creates their own network> evil

I just bought my daughter an iPhone and the customer service calls (which were required to create a Family Plan) were a joke. It took 4 phone calls and a bit of ranting and raving to get them to give me simple answers to questions about rates/features/options of various plans. I couldn’t believe how poor ATT’s service was and the lack of intelligence on display by their reps. One rep was even asking ME to read her the rates displayed on their web page because her computer wasn’t working and she didn’t have the rates in front of her! bug eyed Say what??? Click - on to the next rep…

Unfortunately, they’re the only game in town.

Dont know if anyone saw this already. Perhaps we will get another rally on Monday?

APPLE COMPUTER INC
Daily Commentary

Our system posted a BUY CONFIRMED today. The previous SELL recommendation was issued on 07.30.2007 (46) days ago, when the stock price was 143.8500. Since then AAPL has fallen -3.50% .

BUY-IF is confirmed by a white candlestick with a lower open and a higher close. The buying price is the previous close ( 137.20 ) according to the Rules of Confirmation.

Patience pays off. The market wavered a bit but finally confirmed the recent bullish formation. The dose of the previous day was not enough for a BUY-IF confirmation but today it is. Though the market opened lower today, the day’s activity created a white candlestick that closed above the previous close. This is a valid confirmation criterion. The market is now ready for a bullish move.

We hope that you acted quickly and already bought this stock . Your important benchmark was the previous close. You were supposed to watch the session carefully, feel its bullish tendency despite the lower opening, and go long after making sure that the prices stay over the previous close.

If you bought, continue to hold this stock until the confirmation of the next SELL-IF signal. You are on safe grounds as long as the future prices continue to trade above the benchmark price. What to do if you did not buy? Maybe, you did not have time to follow the session or you simply delegated the delicate job of confirmation to us. Well, it is a bit late, but not too late. You may still find suitable prices for buying in the following sessions.

The market is currently cold for short-sellers. Avoid any short sales and cover the short positions immediately if there are any.

A number of people on other sites have complained about the lack of iPhone information on the ATT web site. Apple is not listed as a phone vendor, nor is the iPhone listed as a possible phone choice. But if one does a Google search, the proper web page at ATT can be found—it’s simply not made easy by Apple’s partner.

The site you refer to publishes the trading recommendations after day close  and then calculates gain/loss based on opening price. This way, no doubt the system will work for sure. That’s about like buying at the open in green days and selling short in red days. The problem of course is you can’t buy in the past. LOL. This is not to argue against AAPL rocketing from now on, I’m just referring to what the site does.

[quote author=“jaco pastorius”] Will London/Paris be Beatles time?

That would certainly be a nice touch, and right in step with Apple’s marketing style.
