UnbelievABLE! This is the same sack of $hit who destroyed the last rally A FEW WEEKS AGO by saying he’d heard Apple were going to CUT iPhone production by 50%!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! SERIOUSLY, we all need to write to thestreet.com and point out the enormous damage he did to the shares then, in his lying, fabricated story, and the farcical nature of his now volte face.

This is outrageous. I don’t know how he dare show his ugly face on TSC again with that halting, whining, insecure lying voice of his.

This guy is the WORST reporter I have ever come across. He’s not just wrong, he’s dangerous.

Seriously, who does that guy think he is? Yul Brynner?

Get that man a turban to cover up his bald pate.

Trying to maintain a competitive advantage perhaps? Maybe they decided it was a mistake to have announced them in the UK this early and didn’t want to repeat it, or perhaps it is going to be different in each of T-Mobile’s territories and they didn’t want to confuse the launch of the iPhone by mindless analysis of why the tariffs were different in Germany, Holland,  etc?

Also, with the French launch taking place with a different carrier (Orange allegedly), at possibly different prices from the T-Mobile German launch, perhaps Apple want to avoid attention being focused on the difference in the tariffs, and remain on the product itself.

Re: Jobs says Apple will fight iPhone unlock hacking

[quote author=“HotAirBaffoon”] Computerworld Article

I hate to say it, but… I told you so. Get ready to have your hacked/unlocked iPhones get re-locked.
HAB

Yes, SJ put unlockers on notice that it isn’t being ignored, but it’s also an interesting situation. From an investors viewpoint, I am quite sure that unlocked phones will not be a significant percentage of the installed base for a year or two. From a legal viewpoint, Apple has to be careful under what circumstances they reverse an existing unlock. I think the most aggressive path Apple can possibly take is: 1. prevent old unlock tools from working with new iPhones 2. reverse unlocks if a user elects to update firmware via iTunes 3. make old versions of iTunes unavailable 4. make new versions of iTunes incompatible with old iPhone firmware (“your iPhone is not compatible with this version of iTunes and requires a software update…”).

I suspect Apple will let existing unlocks run for as long as they dare. The pool of unlocked iPhones acts as a cushion, reducing the pressure on newer iPhones. As Steve says - a cat and mouse game.

He was also asked about exchange and said no problem - not sure what that means.
