[quote author=“DawnTreader”][quote author=“Constable Odo”] And I thought it was overpriced at $300.  I’m so stupid.

No. Not stupid. smile

It’s a challenging stock to gauge both its long-term and short-term potential. The company is creating its own market. I’m in and I really don’t like odd lots but at $600 per share or more it’s tough to muster $60k to play. I see GOOG as being among the first $1 trillion market cap stocks. I just don’t know how long that will take.

I agree with your point in that google creates markets. As long as they execute well, the opportunities are lined up. With a good h/w partner where needed (hint to google: apple), the possibilities are staggering.

Note to be outdone by GS, LEH and the other GOOGlicious analysts, Cramer runs out a “GOOG to $750” call.

Frankly I’m surprised he doesn’t just say $900 and get it over with lol

I see GOOG continuing to transform the current paradigm by providing Web-based services instead of applications. I expect GOOG to displace Microsoft as the leader in consumer-based services (including application-based services such as Office) in the next few years and justifying a much higher market cap before all is said and done.

07:54 EDT GOOG
theflyonthewall.com:  Google-GOOG target raised to $700 from $625, reiterate Buy@OPCO
Oppenheimer raised their target because they believe the company can generate higher revenue largely due to ads from other media, pent-up demand for ads on YouTube, and the increasing success of Google Apps. Google remains the firm’s top pick. :theflyonthewall.com

Irrespective of yesterday’s heart flutter, nobody is reigning in the bullish forecasts for any stocks, it seems.

GOOG is not going to bid in the wireless auction, says Cowen & Co

08:52 EDT GOOG, T, VZ
theflyonthewall.com:  Google-GOOG do not expect GOOG to bid in US 700 MHz spectrum auction@COWN
Cowen believes GOOG’s aim is to force Open Access across all carriers, not just one carrier on one spectrum band. The firm believes GOOG is negotiating with carriers for a deal on their current networks to drive growth of mobile search and to extend Google Apps to the mobile environment, among other reasons.

This is interesting. Most everyone I know was expecting GOOG to bid and bid aggressively in the auction.

So the threat of bidding was sufficient to deliver “open bandwidth” agreements for gPhone licensees with several carriers?
