Good catch.  I personally think the MacMini has a terrific form factor, but I think it would be more useful if it had the power and graphics of at least a MacBook.  I only use my G4 MacMini to play movies and music on my HD Sony TV.  The reason I thought it wasn’t selling is because it doesn’t get the latest technology upgrades so Apple was letting it stagnate to die.  I’m only guessing at this stuff, so I’m not saying I know what’s going on.

I doubt if I’ll buy an Intel MacMini since hopefully the next version of the most powerful Mac Pro will replace just about all my other computers.

My brother and I bought our parents a mac mini last year and besides a memory upgrade which it needs badly it is perfectly suitable for what they need at home when they are away from their “office”  to check mail and surf, play games (actually retired but still very busy with investments).

Plus it has the added benefit that my brother or myself can easily help them over the phone if they ever have a problem with it (or even through remote desktop if need be). It hasnt taken them near as long to get comfortable with the OS as I thought it would.

The product does have a niche. smile

I might be inclined to buy one as a media server but I’m hoping a much needed upgrade to the Apple TV will resolve that issue.
