When are BIDU earnings?
10/25 after close
With this latest Chinese action to direct all search enquiries through them, BIDU could issue stronger-than-expected guidance, couldn’t it (I assume that unlike GOOG, they issue guidance)?

I believe they do issue guidance, but haven’t been following long enough to know how they guide. I’ll have to do some research on that.
I have read this forum for the past few months and just want to say thanks for all the great advice (and sometimes support in down days). It is really great to see what you guys think and do in different situations.
I have invested in apple for the last few years, but have only started to trade it on a day to day basis for the last few months, what a ride

teacher,
can you tell me if aapl will drop to 162 after earnings, so I can sell now?

Sorry, you’re a grown-up sponge and old enough to make your own decisions

Thanks I appreciate it.
I know this might be a difficult one to call, but I have tried to look at the past earnings dates to find out if there is a trend of sell off or buy after Apple announce their financials. But have not found anything I feel comfortable to rely on. I’m all in now and will be sitting with the finger on the sell button the day after their results come out to be ready if I’m wrong.
How are you guys playing it?

Be careful. I have seen the stock drop down initially and the rev back up rather quickly. We first have earnings and the we have the CC. AH numbers can easily be manipulated depending on volume.
The stock can drop and then go back up a few days later.
The other problem is that it moves so fast that unless you have a pre-order you can miss the big moves. It is very risky.
I plan on selling half my position if I see it going down, hoping to buy back at a lower price. It is a gamble but I only lose 50% of my opportunity to lose or make more money.

Welcome gnufist! Well, if you say ‘I am all in now’ does that mean all of your money in the trading accounts (whatever they are) are invested in AAPL? If, yes it’s a risky business to hold over earnings. We know WS and their expectations, and although we (AFB members) are quite confident with the earnings coming up, you never know what WS makes out of them. Long term I wouldn’t worry, but short term we could see some big swings.

Thanks, sounds wise, I should probably try to control my greed and this sounds like a good way to do it.

I bought a few jan 300s, when the news came out, but didn’t want to get to crazy with goog reporting tonight.
