How is the iPod Touch screen quality compared to the iPhone?

I had heard that earlier versions of the iPod Touch had brightness problems and the blacks weren’t as black as the iPhone.  Supposedly the problem was resolved through a software update.  It wasn’t a consistent problem either since different batches of Touches had screen problems and others didn’t.

I’m considering buying a 32GB iPod Touch and I would like to know if the screens are better than the earlier Touch models.

Has anyone here bought a 32GB iPod Touch yet or has seen one in a store and compared the screen quality to the iPhone?

Overall, are iPod Touch screens pretty good in viewing quality?  I’ll be using mine to watch lots of videos.

The few I’ve seen seemed just fine. Other than that, I really don’t know much about them.

Information about the new 32 GB models will start to appear on the web once they start getting into consumer’s hands.
