Hm, I live in Indianapolis along the Canal Walk. I am three blocks from the Indy campus of IU/Purdue, a location with a high number of quality cuties, all of whom seem to jog along the Canal Walk in clothing that is wasting little of the earth’s natural resources.
Now, would you bozos rather I point my camera at my beige G3 and poster of The Marx Brothers, or should I show a zoomed-in photo of the *ahem* view out of my window?
ObGroucho: That reminds me, I must get my watch fixed.

Righty-o! I’ll do it this weekend, if I have a chance. The problem is, most of the cuties haven’t been jogging lately because of the weather.
However, Andy, I must warn you that Indiana was settled in three phases. The first phase, in the southern third of the state, was by pioneers from Kentucky and Virginia who were mostly of northern English descent. The third phase, for the northern two-thirds of the state, were mostly German farmers. The third phase consisted of Slavs, mostly Poles.

BTW, all Apple’s cards have ADC and VGA, but on the dual display, you can use both at the same time.
Thanks, MinM, thought I got a freebie.
iBrotha, the speakers work fine for *normal* use. Whenever music is involved I definitely run through my stereo system which is just to the right of the pic.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention the above post was finally done with a Mac.
iBrotha, sorry, I think I understand you’re question now! You were asking about the new internal speaker? In that case, I have nothing to compare it to, but it would certainly not do the trick alone.
Well, I had to change my speaker setup so I will post another pic or probably just update the link of the previous one. Thought I’d share what happended in case others are interested…
I like to use two sound output devices with my computers. One, desktop speakers and, two, my home audio system. In preparation for buying the G4, I did some research on the sound output ports of the G4 QuickSilver (which has the same config sound-wise as the Digital Audio G4s). Here’s what article #58764 says:
A 3.5 mm sound output port is located on the back of the computer. It is suitable for connecting a pair of headphones or amplified external speakers. By using the Sound Control Panel, you can choose whether to disconnect the internal speaker and the Apple Speakers when a plug is inserted into this port.
So, I was planning on not choosing to disconnect the Apple Speakers that I bought so that both the headphone jack (connected to home stereo) and the Apple Pro speakers would work at the same time. That way I could use the Apple speakers for normal stuff and the stereo for music applications. But, the above article is wrong. There’s no way to allow both output ports to send signals simultaneously. I called Apple Support yesterday and had them on the horn for an hour when they agreed that the support page is wrong and that they’d be updating it soon. Bottom line, you can hook up the Apple Pro speakers or a home stereo but not both. Also, if you use the HK Soundsticks via USB, the headphone jack doesn’t output sound either! So, a home stereo connection with HK Sticks is out also.
I returned the Apple Pro speakers and went with the new Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. These things rock the house. The subwoofer has 130 watt amplifier and they cost around the same as the HK system ($179). They also have a headphone jack on the side of one of the satellite speakers - nice option. Subwoofer volume is located on the satellite as well.
The only problem is that they don’t compliment the design of the keyboard, monitor, etc. since they are black and have a couple more wires to show. However, the sound can go from simple desktop volume to home stereo sounding power with a flick of the wrist. Seriously, if you haven’t heard these things and live by a place that carries Klipsch, check them out.
