Are Mac users cat people or dog people?

A few years back this topic was brought up in MacAddict.  What do you think, are Mac users as a whole dog people or cat people?  I prefer cats myself.  icon_smile.gif

I love both cats and dogs (the fondness for cats came under the influence of a former girlfriend).

If I had to choose only one, however, it would be dogs.

I used to be a cat person, 100%.  My wife was a dog person.  So we decided to get a pet, and her allergies won.  Now I have a dog and I kind of like it.  Except they are a lot of work, way more work than cats.  And they are more likely to get sick and you have to clean up after them all the time.  I guess I’m a cat person.  Mac = low maintenance, cat = low maintenance.

We got two cats and three Border Collies, so I think I’m a cat/dog person.

I am definitely a dog person. Cats aren’t useful as hunting partners, children are louder and messier, and girlfriends cannot be taught to fetch. (DUCKS)

Hm, I seem to do a lot of ducking on these fora.

Heh, that you do, tbone1.  icon_wink.gif

I would like to point out to the poster above who said dogs are more work than cats that you don’t have to clean a litter box out for dogs.  Of course, if you live in New York, you have to perform similar tasks, but that’s beside the point.  icon_smile.gif

Ah, but you can clean the litter box when it’s convenient, while with a dog you have to get up in the middle of the night to let your pet out.  icon_razz.gif

My wife has a bird that I hate (it yells constantly). We had a dog that was so much a part of the family that we still miss her (died in a fire). Never had much use for cats. I personally believe cats are a waste of fur, but I’ve seen a few exceptions. I had a friend who had a Siamese cat. That cat was cool.

So, if I had to pick I prolly go with the dog, but I could see myself with a cat under the right circumstances. (Especially if it likes birds raw with a little salt and pepper.)

Love Golden Retreivers but own a cat. Cleopatra adopted us about six months ago. She is a kind and benevolent ruler. Will one day get another Golden though. Only one pet at a time.

no burglers-my macs are safe.
used to have a cat to keep mice away, now the lab does it
wife has a mac, she loves dogs

yeah-cats are cleaner, the wolf sheds for two months in spring-that’s a lot of brushing

Dogs.

They are more faithful and more loving. Cats are prettier, but I like an animal who gives you friendship and contact. A dog will sense when you’re sad and try to do something about it. It’s the kind of company you can use at all times.

Dogs jump on you and give you too much affection when you don’t want it.  Reminds me of Clippy in MS Office.  icon_smile.gif

OMG LMAO! Yes and you tell him to go away and he does so reluctantly, taking forever to get out of your sight.
