Cats lick themselves to get clean.  Dogs lick themselves for an entirely different reason.  Nuff said in my book. icon_wink.gif

Wmc, that’s silly.  Not being trainable is not a sign of intelligence, in fact it’s just the opposite.

Raena, dogs lick themselves to be clean too.  Though, not having been a dog I can’t swear to it.  And there’s always the old adage about why dogs lick themselves…  because they can…

Hmmmm…  Maybe you are right.  icon_smile.gif

Rosie & I are definatley Cat people. We Started with one stray kitten(Don Amechie) and at one time had Five! Black-Eyed-Susan,Charlette,Sammie, and M.D.(Master-of-Disaster), Eeh Gads ! Long story. Anyway the thing I’ve learned about cats is that you don’t pick them. They pick you. Collin.

Cats adopt people.  If they don’t like you, they don’t stay.
Cats are clean.  You don’t have to bathe them, they take care of themselves.  You don’t have to play with them, they amuse themselves.  I am a serious cat person.  She adopted us 13 years ago and runs the house.

I’m not sure about the low maintenance.  The cats pretty easy, but the iMac is going in the shop tomorrow.  But I’ll forgive it if it promises not to screw up again.  (I forgive the cat when she screws up.)

I love my mac
but then again I have cat
It claws at my face and goes away for months coming home only for food.

I think I like my dog a little bit more.

Well, I’m not a dog, but my old dog (RIP) was a dog, and he seemed to get a LOT of joy from it.

Heh, I don’t think I have a good argument for or against that, Raena, so I will concede the point.  icon_wink.gif

I’m a cat person far and away.  My cat is 14 years old and she is the most loving, sweet animal I have ever been around.  She shows affection by head butting and purring.  She has lived in several states with us, traveling by car for days.  On the other hand, I can leave her alone for a week-end and she does just fine as long as the automatic food dispenser is set to open at the time she expects.
