Are there any for the mac? I heard of Driver, but I know nothing about it. I am a NASCAR fan and would love to see something like that, but alas none so far.

If you count Carmageddon (and I do) there’s one.  Slim pickins though on the driving game front.

Who makes that one, Retro? I never heard of it. Is it new or older?

There was a NASCAR game a couple-three years ago that, I think, was included in some multi-pack later. I’veno idea who made it and when.

What I want to see is an IRL game where A.J. Foyt shoves a pencil up the *rse of ESPN’s Robin Miller.

In fact, I bet that 50% of the people in Indianapolis would buy that, whether they have a computer or not.

There’s also 4x4 Evolution.  The Idiots love it, but I have never played it.

I wish some of the Need For Speed titles would get ported.  I have played the Porsche Edition on a PC, and man is that a good game!

Carmaggedon is a little older game where you basically are driving some sort of vehicle.  The goal is to get points in a few ways:  destroying the other cars, running people over, and finishing the race.  Its really fun and gruesome.  I believe they also made a Carmaggedon 2.  Aspyr media ported the game.

Carmegeddon 2 has been released, and it was published by Aspyr.  For the record, I believe that the good folks at Westlake Interactive actually did the porting.

Whoops, my bad.  Westlake Interactive is the best, sorry about the mix up.

Sorry to take so long to weigh in on this one….

4x4 is indeed a great game, one of my faves. I can also recommend Carmageddon, as long as you don’t mind green-blooded pedestrians. I never bought the game, but I played the demo so many times I got good enough to run into roadblocks fast enough and at the right angle to flip myself on top of buildings. Man, that was fun. icon_smile.gif

But if you want some pure-adrenaline driving with cut-offs, near misses, and 360 spins, Driver is an excellent game. Stable and VERY replayable. I highly recommend it.

I think the full version has red-blooded pedestrians, except in England/overseas, although yes I too had so much fun playing the demo but never upgraded.
