One of my favorite topics, Apple vs RIM:

  Apple vs RIM

If Apple is such a diverse company, why is RIM pacing and slightly ahead as a one-trick-pony?  What the heck keeps RIM afloat?  I have far more at stake with Apple then RIM but I’ve got both so I’ll just ride them both out for the time being.

Another healthy upgrade for Apple stock from Thomas Weisel Partners:

  Raised target price

The upgrade isn’t holding Apple in the green today.  Maybe it’s keeping it from dropping further into the red.  Every little bit helps. roll eyes

New support study comparing Macs and PCs should help give ammo to any IT managers who want to bring more Macs into their enterprise.

Black Swan Counter: 9 (Banks need money, Jobs needs a break, Geithner has no plan, Cuomo’s grandstanding, .Gov needs a hobby, GS works for money, flash crash, is that bubbling crude?).

For those who look, a flash allows one to see farther.

Just found out the real reason for the inclusion of the Easy Bake Oven! Krabby Patties. Just hope they’re not made out of our favorite AFB sponge.

If you thought that was neat, then this iRumor will be even better: Apple iPhone 22% thinner, better battery, more flash memory, subsidized.

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/06/02/report_3g_iphone_22_thinner_better_battery_life.html

Disclosure: iRumor supplied by a hazy smoke and mirrors type.  innocent

[quote author=“lumi”]22% thinner with 3G/GPS and also better battery to boot? Wow, sure sets us up nicely for disappointment if that becomes the new expectation but the original rumor (slightly thicker) turns out to be true—especially if a feature is missing. The rumors are fun, but I fear the way they can set the table for failure in some instances. OTOH, killer improvements if true.

Just echoing Lumi’s comments, whats the thinking regards iRumor control being used as a pretext for a take down? Ala the January debacle When low and behold the iRumors turn out to be just that….

Years ago, I used to think Kahney was OK, if a little off-base.  Now I know better.  I give Kahney’s “unconfirmed” report the same weight as all the other rumors out there….which is to say, not much.

Who is this fat git slagging Jobs on CNBC?

Yet again “Jobs was up to his arse in the options probe” FUD.

As a shareholder I think what Steve has done to the company since the return has been nothing short of amazing.

It’s someone called Joe Noecera (sp?) who is a New York Times hack who has a book out. Obviously picking on Jobs to get coverage…
