The new WWDC banners are a prelude to the oncoming Apple marketing message:
“If you buy an iPhone, welcome to OS X, and guess what your next computer should be?”
The iPod Halo is nothing compared to what the iPhone Halo is going to be. Buying an iPod got you no closer to the Mac platform. You could use iTunes on your PC very happily. Sure, you were now a satisfied user of one Apple product, but how much closer did that really make you to switching computer systems?
But once you buy an iPhone, you’ve already made the switch. Welcome to the club. Do you want to pay for that MBA with your credit card on file?
