Looks great! Is this multiple shots stitched together or did you get a really, really wide-angle lens?

I took three shots: one left, one center and one right. I then used Autostitch (a fantastic piece of free software) to merge them together. You can kind of see the “stitchmarks” where two images meet.

Wow, thanks for the software tip.  I just downloaded it, and I’m going to try it as soon as I get home.

The picture is beautiful… it looks like Louisville.  What city is it?

Neat, I’ll have to try out that app too!

Oh, Autostitch does an absolutely amazing job, that’s for sure.

For the moment it looks like a project at the University of British Columbia. Although commercial versions are available for the Mac, I should point out that the free version is PC only. frown

At first (before someone pointed me towards autostitch), I tried manually merging the photos together in Photoshop. Here’s how that ended up:

Pretty bad, huh. Using autostitch simply involves opening the app, selecting your image files, choosing your quality options and waiting. Again, it’s pretty amazing.

Since the demise of QT VT Authoring Studio, MacOS has not had a decent pano stitching application (QT VR AS was a model of simplicity and efficiency and ran only under Classic—still does below Leopard, of course). Anyway, you might like to try DoubleTake, which is promising and designed for MacOS X.

Thanks for the tip, David! smile

I’ll give it a try next time I want to stitch some pictures together.
