Quicksilver ship dates?

I ordered a new 867 mhz Quicksilver Mac the day they were announced from a catalog retailer.  It seems Apple must be pushing the delivery dates back because the retailers keep pushing back the ship dates.  Any one have any information?

I guess for the time being, I will have to use my beige 233 and just dream of the future - a much faster future, but the future no less.

My impression is that the demand for the new units was MUCH higher than Apple had thought.  Either that, or there is a component (processors or SuperDrive would be my guess) of which that they just can’t get enough.

I know that some people (like Dingo in our forums) who got theirs almost immediately.  Then again, he ordered his 867 MHz unit direct from Apple.

Good luck!

Well, I can say that my friend who ordered his 867 from the apple store about a week and a half ago, just got an email saying it had shipped, which is pretty damn impressive.

I, on the other hand, ordered my dual 800 (BTO) the day they came out, and still have yet to hear from Apple.. (not surprising… they never claimed it would ship this soon…)

So, I have heard many stories of impressive ship dates on everything but the dual 800’s… Nice!

Sorry to say it CW, but your on the wrong side of the pond when it comes to getting your mac first. Although Apple may be worldwide, their ROW policy sucks. It’s simple US goes first. (in the first shipments) and then the ROW can try and get one. It’s been like this with system software for years, until X got out. And it’s the same with hardware. Your dealer may advertise it, but whether he has it is another question.
BTW good luck with your yet to come G4 867.
