I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get up that early on a Saturday to hit the opening, but I’m definitely planning on making a stop during the day.

Hell, what am I saying? I’m going to be clawing at the doors at 6 am icon_biggrin.gif

Ahem… right behind me. I’ll be the one pumping the keg—into Retro’s open mouth icon_biggrin.gif

My wife is sitting here laughing. She says I will be “tuned up” well before the store opens if there is a keg involved. Shes’ sitting here saying that I will be there, red faced and shouting as long as I can, “Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo (huff-huff)
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooo!

Damn, dudes, its gonna be 6 AM.  I’m thinking that might be too early to get started! icon_wink.gif   Oh what the hell, its only once in a lifetime that Apple opens a store in your neighborhood! (With that statement, I officially am a nerd, hehe)

The author of this article in the Pioneer Press talks of bringing an iBook to the Plano, Texas store to connect to the store’s Airport network (which she wasn’t able to do anyway because of computer problems before going to the store).

Do the stores have publicly-accessible wireless networks? It would certainly help the time pass beforehand if they did (and their range extended a bit beyond the store’s pre-opening, locked doors icon_wink.gif )

I know that while you are in the store you can pick up an iBook and move it around the store and still be on the internet.  Base stations don’t stop someone from connecting if they have an Airport card, so I’m sure if you got a good enough spot in line you will be able to pick up the Apple store Airport network if it is running.  Lots of ifs there. icon_smile.gif

I want to see who the resident Mac genius is going to be, it might be someone I know, but if its not I’m going to try to stump him (hehe).  Time to pass out MUG propaganda!!

What time is the best time to get there, based upon activity at the other stores’ openings? I’m so far removed from being a morning person, I know I’ll be lucky to make it there by 7 - 7:30. Am I killing my shirt-chances? icon_smile.gif

As early as possible. The store opens at 9 a.m.

Are you sure?  I’ve heard three different times now, 9, 930, and 10.  I guess we’ll see tomorrow!!!
