Hey Everybody!
I bought a used Hi-Fi that works only with the audio plug as a source because, after looking at the iPod Dock Connector with a magnifying glass, I noticed that a couple of the little micropins are damaged. Also, the inside of the connector looks as if someone spilled something in it and it has oxydized and rusted. I’ve banged around the web to try to find instructions on how to take a Hi-Fi apart but, no such luck. I’ve also searched for a success story of someone having replaced the dock connector (It should be as easy as splicing an USB-iPod cable connector in place of the existing dock connector?) but no such luck. And, I haven’t confirmed it yet but, I heard that the Apple store will repair or swap a Hi-Fi for about $340.00 (which I can’t afford). I would appreciate any repair information or “how to repair a hi-fi dock connector” instructions or leads to where I can get this fixed cheap ![]()
Thanks again, tpj
