I agree with you!  For every speculative gloom and doom piece, there is concrete data of growing Apple market share with iPHones, macbooks, switchers, etc.  The overall market will make itself felt, but I’m convinced patience will reward the Apple longs.

About two-thirds of the way down:

“He uses an Apple Mac laptop”

Hopefully, we’ll start seeing a lot of photos of him using said laptop.

    Great for marketing

These kind of images have to be good for Mac marketing. Every time someone notable is shown on the media using a Mac, this has to create an awareness in the public.

I’m amazed at the number of times in popular prime-time TV shows (or movies) where someone is shown using a Mac. I roughly guess that every time a computer-usually a laptop, is shown on a program, it is 60% of the time a Mac logo prominently shown. Another 20% of the time the logo is masked out, but it is a Mac. The remaining 20% of the time it is a PC.

It has to have a subtle effect on viewer minds when they keep seeing a Mac on prime time TV. When they come to buy, it has to effect them when personalities on their favourite programs use them.

    Windows 7 another failure?

Looks like Windows 7 might be another failure   :

So far, Windows 7 looks and behaves almost exactly like Windows Vista. It performs almost exactly like Vista. And it breaks all sorts of things that used to work just fine under Vista.

Thai True Move to sell 3G iPhone, AIS still in talks

    By Khettiya Jittapong

BANGKOK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Thailand’s third-largest mobile phone firm, True Move, said on Thursday it had signed a deal with Apple Inc (AAPL.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) to sell the 3G iPhone in Thailand.

The deal could make True Move, a subsidiary of True Corp TRUE.BK, the first operator to sell the new phone in the fast-growing Thai market. Bigger rival Advanced Info Service ADVA.BK says it is still talking with Apple about iPhone.

“True Move has signed an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone 3G to Thailand in the coming months,” True Move said in a statement. It gave no precise date.

A senior official at True Corp, which owns 75.26 percent of True Move, said True Move would work with Apple on the launch of the sleek smartphone, which offers faster Internet access and improved email features.

Thailand is still in the testing stage for 3G networks, but 3G iPhone users can surf the Internet via existing EDGE or GPRS networks, a 2.5 generation mobile technology.

Apple rolled out the iPhone in more than 20 countries in July and has set a target of selling 10 million iPhones this year.

Thailand’s largest mobile phone operator, Advanced Info Service (AIS) ADVA.BK, said the Apple deal with True Move was not exclusive.

“Apple is talking with every operator, including us and DTAC. When will we sell iPhone? It depends on when we can reach a deal with Apple on terms and conditions,” Somchai Lertsuttiwong, AIS’s executive vice president for marketing, told Reuters.
