Apple Board Change

Earlier today Apple announced that Larry Ellison has resigned from Apple’s board of directors.   Our TMO story details Apple’s announcement and a story by Dow Jones Buesiness News indicates that Mr. Ellison, due to responsibilities at Oracle, has been unable to attend many Apple board and board committee meetings.

Oracle has fallen on challenging times as of late and it appears that Mr. Ellsion is shedding a formal responsibility at Apple in favor of his day-to-day responsibilities at Oracle.

Larry Ellison and Steve Jobs are publicly known to be the best of friends and this announcement in no way reflects a change in Mr. Ellison’s favorable view of Apple or its future.
