Am I right in thinking that AAPL rallied after the keynote at MacWorld? I’ve a feeling that shorting AAPL might be a crowded trade. If they pull a China iPhone launch out of the bag we might well see a short-covering scramble.

don’t think they will announce anything about iphones…. but i do hope so…

Haven’t checked the details, but Apple store has iPhone software 3.0 and a new iPod shuffle that talks.

THAT was, so far, the significance of the “17” on the iCal icon in the WWDC banner.

I am GLAD the back remains glossy—don’t like the matte.

I think the ICal was June 19th if I’m not mistaken.

Well, we now know June 19 IS the date of the new iPhone’s release date.

Not a bad day of trading for a grand…

Short-covering most likely. This pattern is usually blamed on the PPT, but personally, I think it’s down to overzealous shorts getting their stops run and the momo crowd piling in after.

In the context of Apple Events, I think a new Apple Trade is emerging: sell the previous day and into the open, but be prepared to cover and go long into the close.
