I’ve been checking periodically this morning for the availability of the iPhone 3.0 update and the advisory in iTunes just displayed it’s available!

I’m downloading it now…

The 3.0 update is downloading first to iTunes.

Just an aside: I’m downloading the iPhone 3.0 update my Mac, while simultaneously performing a Time Machine backup to a Time Capsule and posting in the forum, all over a home wireless network. I forgot to turn the iTunes radio on this morning otherwise I’d be streaming music to a home stereo right now as well. The products are an impressive set of solutions. smile

All iphone updates are a full disk image.
Just finish the upgrade and other then a few icons being moved around all is well.  I was looking at MLB app and lo and behold they will be offering streaming video Full game starting on the 18th.  Will be interested to see how it looks.  No longer do I have to miss the home team when I’m out on the road.

Yep. But I’m assuming 3.0 will also have a larger memory footprint than 2.0.

Yes!! I got a connection to Apple! iPhone is restarting now. Progress bar ( first time I’ve ever seen that on my phone I think) looks like this will take about three or five minutes. Super, I can play with the phone while I’m in the lineup for vehicle inspection.

Is anyone else noticing that icons are clearer and crisper under 3.0 then they were before, or am I just imagining it?
